With its online product customization, visualization, eCommerce, and EDI solutions for the furniture and home furnishings industry, MicroD’s products and services provide furniture manufacturers and retailers a smarter and faster way to sell more furniture!

MicroD is experiencing significant growth and is now seeking a high-energy, technically savvy individual with an understanding of search engine optimization and optimal web site design features to join our team as a Sales Representative for Web Solutions: a consultative, telephone as well as face-to-face sales person for the websites we produce. A results-oriented individual with a passion for building ongoing relationships with clients, excellent analytical and communication skills, and a working knowledge of the furniture industry, will succeed in this position.
Job Description:
The Sales Representative for Web Solutions will be responsible for optimizing the business relationships between our company and assigned accounts, resulting in profitable, revenue-generating programs for the company. The Sales Representative for Web Solutions typically will be selling to owners of retail furniture stores. The candidate should be comfortable in face-to-face sales situations, although a majority of the sales process is done over the telephone. The responsibilities of this position include:

  • Understanding the concepts that connect our web site features to furniture retailers’ needs and vocabularies.
  • Analyzing retailers’ current websites to identify areas of weakness where our product would provide better online buying experiences. Sales training on how to recognize problem areas as well as our improved solution will be provided.
  • Calling candidates based on leads obtained from various industry trade shows and events. These calls are often made with introductions or endorsements of our platform from major furniture manufacturers and buying groups.
  • Cold calling retailers, often with the ability to reference a specific name the retailers will recognize from a manufacturer of furniture they carry in their store(s).
  • Demonstrating our product over the telephone using GoToMeeting or a similar web application.
  • Participating in trade show events to generate leads or prospective leads.
  • Qualifying retailers using a pre-defined set of questions.
  • Sending proposals and asking for the orders.
  • Obtaining complete order entry information from customers prior to submitting the orders internally.

 

 

Additional Duties and Expectations:

The Sales Representative Web Solutions candidate is also expected to:

  • Achieve his or her individual sales quota.
  • Work within a team to help achieve our group quota.
  • Be available to represent the company at furniture market trade shows. We participate in four furniture shows each year in both High Point, NC, and Las Vegas, NV.
  • Maintain an accurate record of all active prospects in Salesforce.com. Training on this Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system will be provided.
  • Travel by personal automobile and/or plane to customer locations usually not more than once every six weeks.

 

Qualifications:
A self-starting, detail-oriented individual, the ideal Sales Representative Web Solutions candidate:

  • Has successful telephone sales experience with technical products.
  • Is comfortable asking for orders.
  • Can build relationships with potential customers over the phone.
  • Understands the importance of excellent customer service and follow through.
  • Embraces and drives changes.
  • Constantly works to improve himself or herself and the position by being creative and open-minded.
  • Is able to communicate needs and potential improvements for the sales position.
  • Has worked in a furniture retail store.
  • Understands how retailers merchandise their products.
  • Has experience selling or working with web sites.
  • Has a technical orientation.

 

Compensation:
The Sales Representative Web Solutions position includes a competitive compensation plan. The compensation package includes a base salary of $30,000 to $35,000 (dependent upon experience) and commissions that are paid on a monthly basis.
