At the High Point fall Market, MicroD presented a popular seminar about how to create a powerful online experience for home furnishings consumers. We also celebrated the first anniversary of the OmniVue platform, our merchandising and e-commerce website solution.
At our booth in the Retailer Resource Center, MicroD showcased the responsive design technology behind our newest software development — OmniVue — which officially launched one year ago. Built to support the common goals of retailers and manufacturers, OmniVue delivers an intuitive online showroom platform and navigation, complimenting today’s omnichannel sales strategies. Also featured was the OmniPlanner cloud-based room planning solution, which allows furniture customers to see how different pieces will fit within a room both on mobile and desktop devices. Market week manufacturer attendees also experienced lessons on MicroD’s ePreVue tool for visualizing different fabrics on furniture frames.
The seminar, “Great Expectations: Give Your Shoppers a Great Online Experience,” was presented by Jesse Akre, Senior Vice President of Sales and Customer Success at MicroD. Attendees provided very positive feedback, welcoming the actionable tips for online showroom development, digital product promotions, pricing and customer service.

WithIt Mentoring Day a Success
WithIt hosted a series of successful events at the fall High Point Market, including a Mentoring Day to give promising young students an inside look at the Home Furnishings Industry.
The WithIt organization’s mission is to encourage and develop leadership, mentoring, education and networking opportunities for professionals in the home furnishings industry. MicroD participated in WithIt’s Market week activities, including a President’s Reception in the Stanley Furniture showroom. MicroD staff also attended the WithIt Breakfast featuring Kate Spade New York senior vice president of design (home) Deborah Camplin, who gave each attendee a copy of Kate Spade’s new book “All in Good Taste”.
As part of WithIt Mentoring Day at the Market, MicroD Web Solutions Advisor, Dana Helms, led a roundtable discussion about social media and then guided more than 20 future leaders on a tour of the Rowe Furniture showroom. The students got a first-hand view of how a new product line is launched, including the showroom set-up and product marketing.
MicroD Executive Vice President, Mona Nigam also led a roundtable discussion about industry opportunities. At the well-attended session, students from many universities were eager to learn about home furnishings career options, resume building and networking.
