At England, we build 100% of our product to order. Since everything is custom and not everyone is a visualizer, we realized we needed a tool to make the process of selecting fabrics easier. We teamed up with MicroD 10+ years ago to take advantage of their draping capabilities and allow our dealers and consumers a way to digitally visualize what their custom order will look like.
Our dealers can use MicroD’s draping feature in their stores on a kiosk to create a one stop England shop. This allows salespeople to remain with their customer and have access to all the information and images they might need to close a deal. I believe MicroD’s draping capabilities give consumers a way to interact with our product on the England website and select fabrics that truly resonate with their sense of style giving them the confidence they need to make a purchase.
Our company relies heavily on providing our customers with current and updated information. Our sales team, accounting group, customer service, and merchants all use our manufacturers’ back-end systems. It would be great if all were as easy to use and as informative as what we have with Hooker Furniture’s websites, built by MicroD.
Their systems allows dealers to log in to consumer-facing websites for Hooker, Sam Moore, and Bradington-Young and enjoy a rich, Amazon-like shopping experience for ordering furniture. It’s amazing!
Once logged in, I can use the system to see my specific pricing for products plus their availability and I can use the Configure/Price/Quote system to easily build custom furniture orders for our customers. The Hooker Furniture website is the best Dealer-to-Manufacturer ordering system of all those that we use.
We would love to see more manufacturers adopt this B2B model for dealers like us!
We’ve used the catalog data, the premium slideshow, and it’s really been great because we carry so much product and I wouldn’t be able to get all of that loaded onto the site myself.
